Activity Day! We begin the day with a hike in the foothills with
Pdro and Gonzalo on the property of a cattle and horse farm. We’re lucky that it’s not too sunny today or
it would be VERY HOT! We get to see some beautiful horses and beautiful
views. At the top of the mountain, we
look a little like the Von Trapp family crossing the Alps! Not all of our merry
band loves to hike (not mentioning names!), but everyone is looking forward to
the afternoon activity, rafting! This is definitely NOT white water rafting,
more like brown water rafting because of the churned up silt! Lots of talk
about falling in on the way to the river makes me a bit nervous…..but our
rafting guide Diego guides us through the 1-3+ rapids masterfully. Oh yes, about the falling in- we did lose
Alan, Max, and Sabrina overboard, but they all managed to hold on to the red
line!! Good job all!
Dinner tonight is a private “Christmas Eve” dinner party for
hotel guests: Sparkling wine and hors d’oeuvres by the pool and a wonderful
dinner followed by fireworks. A great send-off to Mendoza.
